1.Autopsy Assistant – B2/B3 – Vacancy Circular No 2 of

1.1.Purpose of the Job
The vacancy exists in the Forensic Science Services.
The candidates responsibility will be to assist the Forensic Pathologist in
performing medico legal investigation of deceased persons in Botswana. The post
is for male/female with the following:
•Botswana Citizen
•Aged between 18-30 years
•Being physically fit
•Have no criminal record
•Having good character
1.2.Salary: B3/B2 (P33 696 – P48528)
1.3.Leave: 20 working days per annum
1.4.Benefits:
•Optional contributory Medical aid scheme (Govt
pays 50% and employee 50%)
•Compulsory Contributory Pension scheme for
permanent and personable staff (Govt pays 15% and employee pays 5%)
1.5.Qualifications
•BGCSE, 30 points and above with at least C in
English, Maths, Biology and any other science subject.
OR
COSC – Cambridge Overseas Secondary Certificate
with first and second class pass with at least C in English, Maths, Biology and
any other science subject
Or
•Certificate in Anatomial Pathology Technology or
equivalent tertiary science subjects will be an added advantage.
1.6.Duties
•To assist Pathologist in performing post mortems
•Helps in preserving corpses
•Prepares paper work pertaining to post mortems.
•Maintains mortuary equipment and stock levels of
consumables
•Maintain absolute cleanliness of mortuary.
