around the world, is recruiting an Equity Investment Director for an
anticipated USAID-funded economic strengthening project in Rwanda. The Rwanda
Nguriza Nshore project aims to facilitate the emergence of a dynamic off-farm
sector that can generate greater employment at a higher wage for Rwandans
currently engaged in subsistence agriculture and other low income economic
activities.

- Provide
overall management and leadership in working with equity investors,
including Rwandan individuals and firms, and those based outside of
Rwanda. - Oversee
research initiatives and assessments to strengthen project understanding
of the challenges and opportunities for equity investment in agribusiness
in Rwanda. - Work
with the Government of Rwanda to strengthen the policy and regulatory
environment regarding equity investment, with a focus on agribusiness. - Work
with other aspects of the project to identify investment-ready firms, and
facilitate introductions between those firms and appropriate investors
that lead to substantial investments. - Participate
in project work planning, performance management, and strategic
communications. - Participate
in monitoring and evaluation as it relates to equity investment, ensuring
that all equity investment targets are met.
Qualifications:
- Advanced
degree in finance, business administration, economics, or other relevant
field - A
minimum of 7 years of experience in equity investment, investment banking,
finance, economic growth, or other related discipline - Knowledge
and understanding of both investors as well as small and medium-sized
businesses in Rwanda - Excellent
project management, communication, writing, and computer skills - Ability
to negotiate, manage and build partnerships - Knowledge
and experience with the policy and regulatory environment as relates to
equity investment in Rwanda - Ability
to work both independently and as part of a team - Previous
experience working on USAID projects is a plus - Fluency
in written and spoken English required
