Global objective
The global objective of the assignment is the mutual agreement by the government of
Botswana and the EU on a National Strategy/National Indicative programme for Botswana –
EU cooperation, under the 11th EDF, for the period 2014 – 2020. This new strategy
has to support the acceleration towards the achievement of Vision 2016 objectives and ultimately progress towards eradication of poverty.
Specific objective
The specific objective of the assignment is to assist the government of Botswana and the
EU Delegation in the different phases of the programming of the EU’s development cooperation
with Botswana, under the 11th European Development Fund, covering the period 2014-2020.

Description of post:
Minimum requirements:
– At least 4 year university degree or equivalent diploma in (Development) Economics,
or field closely related to the assignment.
– A professional experience of at least 8 years in this fields in addition to the professional requirements stated below would be considered as equivalent to a least 4 years university
degree. University degree or equivalent Diploma of less than 4 years can be completed with relevant professional experience, 2 years additional professional experience is considered as equivalent to one year university degree.
– At least 10 years of relevant professional experience
– Fluency in English and computer literacy
Assets:
– Experience in developing EDF Programmes is a strong asset – Experience/knowledge of EDF
Programmes is a strong asset
– Experience in implementing a similar assignment is a strong asset
– Experience in working in middle-income countries is an asset
– Experience in Policy analysis
– Experience in developing development programmes with Government is an asset
– Experience in Botswana relevant to this assignment would be an asset
– Experience in development activities is an asset
– Strong advocacy, analysis, communication and writing skills
