Rumble Theatre is
seeking to cast the roles of RITA, ALFRED, ASTA and BORGHEJM in our world
premiere production of Indian Arm by Hiro Kanagawa (an adaptation of Little
Eyolf by Henrik Ibsen). Indian Arm will take place April 8 – 18, 2014 at Studio
16 in Vancouver, BC.
About Indian Arm:
Based on Henrik
Ibsen’s classic Little Eyolf, Indian Arm transports Ibsen’s tale of domestic
unrest to present day Vancouver, setting the growing tension between a husband,
a wife and their disabled son along the seemingly bucolic west coast. But when
long-held histories and jealousies are revealed, and tragedy strikes, they
threaten to tear a family – and a community – apart.
Submission procedure;
We are looking to
cast the following roles:
RITA: female,
Caucasian, late 30s – early 40s. A once-promising combination of beauty and
brains, she now languishes as a wife and a mother.
ALFRED: male,
Caucasian, 40s. Rita’s husband, a once-promising writer who has just made a
life-changing realization about his career and family.
ASTA: female,
Caucasian, mid-20s. Rita’s half-sister, still the pretty young thing Rita once
was-so much potential, so little direction.
BORGHEJM: female,
50s – 60s, member of the Tsleil-Waututh First Nation.
She is a residential
school survivor and member of the family that owns Rita’s leasehold.
Interested
applicants are asked to submit, via email, a CV and a current headshot to rumble@rumble.org.
Please use the subject heading “Indian Arm – actor”.

Thursday, September 4, 2014.
Equity members will
be seen first at all open audition calls. Rumble Theatre engages actors under
the Independent Theatre Agreement (ITA).
