in Rwanda and is looking for suitable candidates to fulfill the following
position:
 Position:
WASH Coordinator (1)

Responsible to: Health
Coordinator 
Site: Mahama
Key
responsibilities
     
Organize and supervisor all Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) activities for
all ARC projects in Mahama Refugee Camp, in accordance with Sphere standards
and best practices, including:
o   Construction and
maintenance of latrines
o   Construction and
maintenance of environmental drainage
o   Overseeing and
coordination of all primary health WASH responsibilities, including upkeep of
hand washing stations, daily cleaning and emptying of health centre latrines
and medical waste management
o   Overseeing and
coordination of WASH activities in a Cholera treatment unit and Cholera
treatment centre during a Cholera outbreak
·        
Provide
technical expertise and support on WASH related topics to all ARC programs,
including:
o  
Health
o  
Nutrition
o  
PMTCT
o  
Construction
o  
Shelter
o  
Community
health workers
·        
Liaise
with the following WASH colleagues to ensure a high level of WASH service
delivery for all ARC programs is achieved:
o  
ARC
WASH technical advisor in ARC Kigali office.
o  
UNHCR
o  
Oxfam
o  
World
Vision
·        
Supervise
and coordinate casual labor workers involved in ARC WASH activities;
 
   
Organize
bi-yearly chemical spraying of latrines and dwellings.
·        
Organize
community sensitization campaigns on WASH related issues.
·        
Provide
weekly and monthly reports for WASH related activities.
·        
Any
other tasks assigned by the ARC Site Manager.
Qualifications:
·         Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineer required
·         Strong oral and written skills required
·         Minimum two years of 
experience with WASH activities in development or relief organisation
preferred
·         Fluent in English and Kinyarwanda required, French or
Swahili preferred
·         Ability to work effectively in austere conditions and
live in isolated areas in Rwanda required
·         Good computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft
Office system
