All Users Can Now Use Microsoft 365 Copilot’s Researcher and Analyst Features

Microsoft 365 Copilot license

Two cutting-edge thinking agents, Researcher and Analyst, have been formally published by Microsoft and are now available. These tools became available through the Frontier program in April and are meant to boost productivity by dealing with long and complex research and analytic tasks. Following months of use in early access, demonstrating real benefits, Microsoft integrated these tools into Copilot, powered by OpenAI’s models

Researcher – Advanced Insights in Minutes

Researcher streamlines complex project work so that the process that often takes professionals hours is much faster. Users can use the combined technologies to get detailed, valuable results in less time.

Researcher has proven its importance for those who review tariffs’ impact, draft negotiation notes or compile detailed information for customers. It helps teams get to decisions faster since they don’t need to gather as much data first.

Analyst – Human-Like Data Reasoning, Supercharged

Analyst offers a fresh and smart approach to looking at workplace data. Using o3-mini reasoning from OpenAI, Analyst solves problems by acting like an experienced data scientist who carefully and step-by-step reasons with each issue.

The tool does not merely share the outcomes; it explains how it does its work. Code is built up step by step, logical operations are revealed, and the results are checked by anyone watching. Because of its abilities, businesses can see customer behaviour, pinpoint unused product options and develop visual materials important for marketing.

Seamless Integration and Accessibility

Agents are now available inside the M365 Copilot app and are automatically pinned for quick access. Users holding a Microsoft 365 Copilot license can ask up to 25 combined questions per month for both Researcher and Analyst.

Researcher currently serves in 37 different languages, enabling its value for teams in diverse countries. At launch, Analyst was supporting eight languages, though it will improve this over time. Both users and IT specialists have an easy time with setup, as Microsoft guides them each step of the way.

Real-World Use- What’s Now Possible

Visualize a product manager doing everything needed before launching a new product. Instead, they could use Researcher to get an analysis of competitors by being asked for details on market rivals, recent product upgrades, pricing plans, and what their customers say, all from credible and updated sources. At the same time, using Analyst lets you check the company’s data to see the features people rely on the most, find out which customers are not as involved, and observe how giving discounts has affected their actions. All of this information can shape pricing and advertising strategies using just one workflow and no extra tools.

The Future of Intelligent Workflows

With the new Researcher and Analyst features, Microsoft is making good progress in introducing intelligent agents for the workplace. Providing these powerful tools to all users helps the company accomplish tasks more quickly and also changes the way knowledge tasks are done.

If you have an active Microsoft 365 Copilot license, you can access Researcher and Analyst within Copilot Chat. This is an exciting period for workplace intelligence since research and analysis can be found with just a simple query.
