ROLE
Australia’s Aquaculture industry is dynamic and is expected to grow at a
compound annual rate of around 5% over the five years through 2014-15, to reach
$1.2 billion. Do you want to be part of this rapidly-growing and incredibly
rewarding industry? For a key client of mine I am currently looking for an
Operations Manager who is skilled at and has experience in managing aquaculture
fish farming operations. My client is growing rapidly and markets a range of
highly specialised aquaculture fish products and has a number of farming
production sites that this role would manage.
DESCRIPTION
As the Operations Manager for these production remote and regional farming
sites you will be primarily responsible for the management of production and
harvest operations and the biological production performance, including
mortality reduction, increased growth and higher feed efficiency of the fish.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your main responsibility as Operations Manager is to achieve target biological
performance of the fish across all sites, improve both operational and labour
force efficiencies and effectiveness and deliver strong and consistent
communication. This role must also continually demonstrate strong leadership by
identifying opportunities for efficiency gains and supporting the labour force
to enable continual improvement.
REQUIREMENTS
Ideally the candidate would have a strong background in fish aquaculture
production and candidates must be able to demonstrate experience in this area
to be considered for this role Good people management and communication skills
Current driver’s licence Strong computer skills Boat/diving certificates and/or
experience desirable
