We seek to
appoint a Process Plant Maintenance Superintendent at our Buzwagi gold mining,
reporting to the Process Plant Maintenance Manager.
Roster type:
6 weeks on 3 weeks off
KEY
RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
·
To direct and Control the Maintenance foremen , and all contractors and their
personnel, within the Gold Plant Department.
·
To assist the Process Plant Maintenance Manager in the execution of his duties.
·
To make the necessary appointments of health and safety representative.
·
To appoint other persons as deemed necessary or as required to assist in all
duties and functions and to ensure persons discharge their duties as set out in
their appointments
·
To be familiar with the provisions of the mining legislation and all amendments
thereto,as well as other legislation which may impact on the activities at the

Be aware of responsibilities and duties as contained in the Barrick Gold
Standards (BGS) and the barrack fuel standards(BFS) and Barrick Hygiene
Standards (BHS)
·
Be aware of the departments HLRA, relevant FLRA, SOP’S and work procedures
together with corporate guidelines.
·
Develop and implement procedures for identification,approval, planning,
scheduling, execution and recording of process plant maintenance work.
·
Be aware of the Buzwagi Cardinal Rules
·
To ensure that all Employer and General Manager’s instructions are strictly
observed and enforced, to be conversant with these instructions and all
permissions and exemptions provided to the mine.
·
To ensure that resources are properly utilized for health and safety purposes,
·
To report any shortcomings in relation to the implementation of applicable
legislation as well as group procedures and instructions in writing to the
employer.
Education Requirements:
·
Trade qualified, mechanical, electrical disciplines or Boilermaker.
·
National Technical Certificates 4, 5 and 6
Experience / Skills
Requirements:
  • Minimum
    5 Years as a Maintenance Foreman in a Gold Plant or Mining Environment.
·
Experience in computerized maintenance systems is essential.
