African Barrick Gold Boilermaker Foreman Job Vacancy in Tanzania

We seek to appoint a Boilermaker Foreman at our Buzwagi Gold Mining Operation. Reporting to Mine Maintenance Superintendent and is worked on a 6/3 week FIFO roster.

KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Adherence to health & safety regulations
  • Perform routine Inspections, including wear measurement checks, inspections and reviews focusing on eliminating the root cause of defects, improving uptime, and overall equipment effectiveness, resulting in increased production and better asset utilization
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance of all hard piping, supports, structures, walkways and materials of construction as directed by the supervisor and coordinating with production
  • Using oxygen/acetylene torches and plasma arc
  • Repairing equipment and steel structures
  • Installing fabricated items in the field following shop preparation
  • Prepare and install flat plate, structural and pipe layout
  • Ability to collect field measurements/sketching
  • Fabrication from sketches and blue prints
  • Using shop equipment (brakes, rolls, shears, ironworkers, etc) and materials (stainless, – A36, mild steel, AR400, etc.
  • Be actively involved and contribute to safe work practice.
  • Be enthusiastic and pro-active mechanical maintenance aligning with the overall business objectives.

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

Education Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications

Experience Requirements: 4 years journeyman boilermaker/welder or related journeyman experience in an industrial setting
OHSA regulation and compliance
Technical boilermaking skills and experience.
Be able to demonstrate a strong engineering background.
Good troubleshooting skills and the ability to speak read and write English.
Good verbal and written communication skills to facilitate accurate transfer of information in both an upward and downward direction.
