Job Description
We are looking for exceptional individuals who can blend technical expertise with great communication and commercial awareness. The right candidate will join our expanding team and be responsible for developing a great product.
You will work within the development team building business critical tools upon Microsoft web technologies. You can expect to work across all aspects of the product, but with a particular emphasis on building scalable robust architecture. You will be expected to contribute to designs for additional features and the architecture and infrastructure to deliver them on a modular and scalable basis. As well as development, the role will also encompass work on product design & architecture and contributing to the management of product rollouts.
Finally you will be working for a growing company, as such you will have the opportunity to showcase your talents, but we also expect you to bring an entrepreneurial spirit to your work and contribute to the operational side of the company – this could be anything from system administration, to marketing to managing supplier relationships.
Who Should Apply?
The ideal candidate will have studied a computer or information science based degree. We will also consider candidates who have studied a highly analytical degree, incorporating business process re-engineering and / or computer programming.
The successful candidates must be able to demonstrate the following:
• Strong academics with a minimum 2:1 (or higher) in a numerate degree
• Clear analytical and logical thinker, able to identify how processes can be improved and complex problems solved
• Strong communications skills, able to engage, inform and empathize with others
• Ability to construct and deliver a well thought out argument or appraisal
• The drive and enthusiasm to become a key member in a relaxed but highly motivated environment
Preferred Technical Skills
As a member of the development team we will quickly build your technical skill-set through on the job training and there is the scope to undertake Microsoft certification. So whilst formal technical qualifications are not required to apply for this role if you have a number of the following skills it will be a distinct advantage on your application.
• Asp.net framework (ideally c#)
• Delivering data driven web applications
• SQL experience (MsSQL/Oracle/MySql)
• Application architecture (n-tier, SOA)
• .NET technologies (.NET 4, LINQ /Entity Framework)
• Web development skills (JavaScript, JQuery, JSON, CSS)
