Tasked with improving health outcomes
for Australians through the delivery of
digital healthcare systems and the national digital health strategy for
Australia, the Australian Digital Health Agency (the Agency) commenced
operations on 1 July 2016.
The Agency is responsible for national digital health services and systems,
with a focus on engagement, innovation and clinical quality and safety. Our
focus is on putting data and technology safely to work for patients, consumers
and the healthcare professionals who look after them.
Reporting
to the Director, Terminology, the Product Support Specialist will take
responsibility for providing general and technical support to a broad range of
users and implementers of the National Clinical Terminology Service (NCTS)
products SNOMED CT-AU, the Australian Medicines Terminology (AMT) and related
terminology authoring tools. Stakeholder management is a key element to
encourage the adoption and successful implementation of NCTS terminology
products in Australia.

- Support
the Product Support Lead in the provision of product support and
consulting services to NCTS product licence holders and the healthcare
community in general. - Resolve
terminology product support requests by understanding customer
requirements and use cases and applying knowledge to deliver relevant and
comprehensive guidance to the target audience. - Develop
and deliver training material for a range of audiences including business,
clinical and technical stakeholders. - Assist
in the development of technical implementation guidance and other product
support materials to enable quality implementations of SNOMED CT-AU and
the AMT in stakeholders’ applications and systems. - Contribute
to the NCTS product development roadmap by providing feedback on changing
requirements from jurisdictions, clinicians, vendors and other terminology
stakeholders. - Participate
in the Agency’s terminology user forums, International Health Terminology
Standards Development Organisation (IHTSDO) project groups and other
industry meetings as required.
The
successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in the field of Health
Informatics, including knowledge of SNOMED CT or related terminologies and
classifications. In addition, key skills and experience include:

- Experience
working with software vendors, preferably related to clinical information
software packages. - Experience
in data analysis, database systems, and writing SQL queries. - Experience
in delivering face-to-face training to a broad range of clients. - Excellent
communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to
understand and communicate concepts and materials of a complex, conceptual
and technical nature, simply and clearly. - Proven
ability to work through problems with different customer groups including
clinical users and technical implementers achieving positive outcomes. - Tertiary
qualification preferably in Health (pharmacy, nursing, medicine),
laboratory or information sciences or similar.
