Health and Wellness (H&W) Coordinator (1 position)
Reporting Line :
The Village Director
Job
purpose :

To coordinate all
strategic and administrative work/activities of the H&W center, focusing on
disease control/ prevention, health promotion and provide appropriate
intervention and treatment strategies including optimum mental and emotional
health care. In addition, the H&W coordinator will represent the center
with government and community partners.
Qualifications
and Competencies required :
  • Graduate in health related program
    with a master degree in Public Health (or pursuing the course or related
    field).
  • 2-5 years experience in a health
    related program in a supervisory or administrative capacity.
  • Knowledge of principles, methods
    and techniques of efficient administrative, including public relations,
    personnel administration, and office management.
  • Knowledge of social and medical
    national protocols
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and
    direct a staff of technical and medically related personnel.
  • Ability to interpret and apply
    laws and policies to specific problems relating to H&W activities.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal,
    relationship building and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong leadership and
    team-oriented skills
  • Ability to determine priorities,
    be self-directed and work with minimal supervision
  • Strong budgetary skills.
Key
Responsibilities :
  • Develop and review the H&W
    policies and protocols
  • Create and maintain partnership
    with outside resources for health education.
  • Review and maintain psychological
    case management and monitoring programs with emphasis
  • on prevention.
  • Assist in improving the youth’s
    overall behaviour and performance in school, home and com-
  • munity.
  • Review and provide appropriate
    intervention and medical treatment strategies including : referrals,
    clinical case management, individual/group therapy, and advocacy.
  • Conduct health awareness seminars
    and workshop in relation to the Village needs.
  • Guide, supervise and evaluate the
    work performance of the H&W staff.
  • To create an atmosphere where the
    Health & Wellness center is a location of choice for physical
  • and emotional healing.
  • In charge of the alumni framework
    with updated records of all students who graduate from the
  • village.
  • In liaison with the Professional
    Skills Coordinator, the H&W Coordinator will provide career
    orientation and guidance to the youth.
  • Align all H&W activities to
    the approved budget.
  • Coordinate all H&W activities.
II.
Social workers (2 positions)

Reporting Line :
The Village Director
Qualifications :
  • Possession of an academic degree
    in social work or a bachelor’s degree in social sciences, sociology,
    psychology, with a concentration in social work.
  • At least two years of professional
    experience with children and youth.
  • Willingness to learn new ways of
    communicating with youth
  • A strong sense of responsibility
    and integrity.
  • Relevant personal skills including
    excellent oral and written communication skills, team work abilities, and
    administrational proficiency.
  • A charismatic, pedagogical and
    caring approach to children and youth
  • Must be willing to live in the
    village, and be available outside work hours.
The
principal detailed responsibilities of the social worker are :
  • Proactively receive updates from
    formal and informal educators on each child’s personal background,
    progress, and challenges.
  • Advise/provide training to grade
    coordinators, family mothers and counsellors on addressing disciplinary
    issues.
  • Workinclosecollaborationwiththeschooltocreatecontinuityinrecordingandaddressingevery
    child’s needs and difficulties
  • Explore and evaluate the current
    and/or anticipated problems and needs of the children.
  • Conduct the annual social work
    intake assessments and create treatment plans on the agreed issues to work
    on with the children
  • Record professional assessments,
    identified problems using specific guidelines/assessment form
  • and progress notes.
  • Submits reports, statistical
    documentation of work performed in conformity with departmental
    requirements if applicable.
Meet with children
who express emotional, distress or anxiety and give professional guidance
