Suppliers of Kits for TVET
Graduates
Background and Purpose
The Government of Rwanda has recently launched its Second Economic Development
and Poverty Reduction Strategy (EDPRS II). One priority areas in the EDPRS II
is Productivity and Youth Employment by developing skills and attitudes through
the promotion of TVET, adult literacy, short basic skills training, on-the-job
training, and youth entrepreneurship initiatives.
In light of the Government’s strategy Global Communities (formerly CHF
International) through its USAID Higa Ubeho program has expanded opportunities
for youth across Rwanda to enroll in one year technical vocational training
programs. Global Communities through its Rwandan Partner Organizations
(RPOs) and in collaboration with districts, schools, parents/guardians supports
young people to join Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET). It is
in this regard that Global Communities intends to purchase materials that will
enable recent TVET graduates to enter the formal workforce.
Established suppliers in Rwanda are invited to provide quotations for
materials to include in kits for TVET graduates in the following trades:
• CARPENTRY
• MASONRY/CONSTRUCTION
• TAILORING
• HAIRDRESSING
• WELDING
• MECHANICS
• ELECTRICITY
Bidding instructions must be requested in writing by sending an e-mail to
kits@rw.chfinternational.org. The deadline to submit bids is September 10, 2013.
Note: all
interested suppliers must provide proof that their primary business is the
provision of such materials, e.g. past record of supplying similar goods.
