DescriptionThe School of St
Jude is a charity funded school that provides FREE, high-quality education to
over 1,500 primary and secondary students from the poorest communities in
Arusha, Tanzania. This is made possible through the generosity of many people
around the world. Sponsorship and donations are a vital part of the ongoing
success of St Jude’s, and every contribution is valued.
The School seeks
applications from creative, organised and enthusiastic individuals to join
their Sponsor Relations Team. The Sponsor Relations Team prides itself on the
timely and regular feedback it provides to all Student, Teacher, Boarding Room
and Bus sponsors, including photos, updates, school reports and personally
written letters by students.
Individuals in the
Sponsor Relations Team are motivated team players who are flexible enough to
roll up their sleeves and have a go.
A minimum
commitment of one year is expected
Key
Responsibilities:
- Training
and empowering Tanzanian staff - Creating
documents for sponsors that are informative and enjoyable to read - Assisting
with student selection process from August to December - Liaising
with sponsors and St Jude’s staff - Answering
general sponsorship related questions and individual enquires about
specific sponsored Students, Teachers, Boarding Rooms and Buses. - Keeping
up-to-date and accurate records on the database.
Skills/Attributes:
- Exceptional
creative writing, design and communication skills - Strong
inter-personal skills to work in collaboration with all other departments - Excellent
organisation skills - Strong
computer skills in Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, Access and Publisher
a must) - A
strong commitment to the continued training of Tanzanian staff - The
ability to be flexible, extremely patient, personable and easy-going
Living
Allowance:
International
volunteers receive a comfortable monthly living allowance, which is enough to
live on but not enough to fund travel around Africa. For further information
