Duties:

  • The HR&OD manager will co-lead CARE Tz.’s
    organizational development (OD) agenda.  OD in this context is
    defined as deliberate planning for purposes of increasing CARE Tz.’s
    effectiveness and efficiency’.  The HR & OD manager will seek to
    increase the effectiveness of CARE Tz. through alignment with CARE’s
    Vision2020; provide opportunities for staff, partners, & CARE to
    achieve full potential, including opportunity for staff to influence the
    way in which they relate to work at CARE Tz. and its operating
    environment.
  • The HR & OD manager administers human
    resources management activities in the Country Office (CO). The HR &
    OD manager is responsible for developing, updating and ensuring the appropriate
    application of human resource policies and procedures.  The position
    also provides functional supervision of Program Office staff assigned HR
    administration responsibilities and supervises HR unit staff at Dar.
     This position is a member of the CO Leadership Team (CLT).
Requirements:
  • Bachelors’ degree or equivalent combination of
    education and work experience in human resource & Organizational
    Development management;
  • 6 years previous experience in HR management,
    of which 3 years should be at a senior level; Demonstrated experience in
    Organizational Development (OD);
  • Sound knowledge of current labor legislation,
    best practices, and employment Standards;
  • Excellent communication and oral presentation
    skills (verbal & written);
  • Strong interpersonal skills, political
    judgment, and ability to exercise confidentiality;
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively,
    and provide effective team leadership
  • Firm belief in gender equality.
Desired:
Masters degree in HR management or related field;  Head of HR in a NGO;
Significant experience in OD.
