Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct risk assessment and participate in establishment of internal audit
scope and annual plans
Prepare audit engagement/project plans and programs
Perform and control the full audit cycles including risk management and control
over effectiveness, financial reliability and compliance with all applicable
directives and regulations
Prepare audit findings memorandum and draft reports that reflect audit’s
results and documented processes
Identify loopholes and recommend risk aversion measures and cost savings
Conduct follow up audits to monitor management’s interventions
Act as an objective source of independent advice to ensure validity, legality
and goal achievement through participation in carrying consultancy
services/projects
Engage to continuous knowledge development regarding sector’s rules,
regulations, best I tools, techniques and performance standards
Other duties assigned as Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate will possess the following minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Finance; Computer science/IT; Insurance or
equivalent
Must have professional qualification (CPA/ CIA/ ACCA or equivalent)
Minimum 2 years experience in internal and/or external audit
Proven knowledge of auditing standards and related procedures, laws, rules and
regulation
High attention to detail, Strong analytical skills and sound independent
judgment coupled, manipulate data and to compile detailed and quality report
Excellent written/verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship
building skills
Advanced computer skills on MS Office, understanding of audit and accounting
software advantage
Experience in financial services industry /sector will be an added advantage
