The Ministry of
Works and Transport has budgeted for funds for monitoring of Weighbridges
Management and Activities in the country and the funds were approved for FN
2014/15. The Ministry wishes to use part of these funds in the recruitment of
Weighbridges staff to carry-out Axle Load Surveys and monitor the performance
of weighbridges.
Ministry hereby
invites applications
for the following posts in the Weighbridge Monitoring
Unit. Post: Weighbridge Controller:
Salary Scale:
Contract Salary. Negotiable depending on qualification
Age 22 Years and
above
Terms of Service:
Performance contract of TWO
(2) years and
subject to satisfactory performance
Report to: Assistant
Commissioner/Road and
Pipeline Transport
Regulation. Supervises: Assistant Weighbridge Controllers.
Qualifications:
• The applicant must
be a Ugandan holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University
or Institution.
• A Minimum
experience of FOUR years in Axle load Control Management is a must.
• The applicant must
be computer literate and able to
demonstrate
management skills in human resource and equipment handling
• Must possess a
Valid Driving Permit.
Duties:
• The incumbent will
be responsible to the Assistant Commissioner/Road and Pipeline Transport
Regulations
• To monitor Axle
Load Surveys.
• To carry out Axle
Load Surveys.
• To develop work
plans, financial budgeting and progress reports on axle loading.
• To superviSe staff
and training of weighbridge.• Any other duties that may be assigned from time
to time
