CCASA Sexual Assault Worker/Educator Job Vacancy in Canada

Calgary Communities Against Sexual Abuse (CCASA) is the
primary sexual violence service provider for Calgary and surrounding areas.
CCASA is looking to hire a permanent full-time Sexual Assault Worker/Educator
in our Education Program. This individual will provide education to members of
the community on topics related to sexual violence with a primary focus on
engaging male identified people through CCASA’s “ManEnough?” Program.

The “ManEnough?” Program is designed assist male identified people
in the development of the skills needed to challenge attitudes and beliefs that
support violence and to explore alternative constructions of masculinity that
promote equality.

Responsibilities of the Sexual Assault Worker/Educator
include:

  • Facilitation of CCASA’s community and
    professional education programs with a specific focus on the promotion and
    facilitation of all aspects of the “ManEnough?”
    Program
  • Public speaking to children, youth and
    adults on topics related to sexual violence
  • Respond to disclosures of
    abuse/assault in a professional, supportive manner, including assessing
    for risk and reporting to authorities when required
  • Participate in creative and effective
    outreach and program development activities
  • Provide crisis support, information,
    advocacy and referrals to community members when needed
  • Successful applicant may be required
    to work some evenings and weekends.

The successful applicants will have the following qualifications:

  • A degree in social/human services
  • An understanding and comfort with
    issues related to sexual violence and sexuality
  • Possess an anti-oppressive/feminist
    analysis of sexual violence
  • Crisis intervention and assessment
    skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability to
    changing demands and client groups
  • Professional registration
  • Strong public speaking, facilitation
    and community development skills
