Save the Children UK Senior Advocacy Adviser (Hunger) Job Vacancy in Farringdon, London

Save the Children UK’s newly created Advocacy Department provides strategic leadership on national and international advocacy, whilst also working with our country programmes around the world. Join the team and you’ll be crucial in developing and leading on the implementation of our hunger strategy.
As Senior Advocacy Adviser (Hunger) you will:

  • make a significant intellectual contribution to the organisation’s overall thinking, policy work and positioning on child survival.
  • provide strategic direction working closely with Policy & Research functions
  • build strong relationships with our country programmes to ensure that advocacy work is delivered at international level
  • draft articles for mainstream press, prepare speaking points and speeches as required

As Senior Advocacy Adviser (Hunger) you must:

  • be good at expressing complex issues simply,
  • be a team player, and be interested in engaging on a range of issues.
  • have experience of policy research, having written and published policy reports and briefings
  • have superior written communication skills
  • have the ability to work closely with other team members in the Advocacy division, coordinating activity and input towards Save the Children UK’s organisational advocacy objectives.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate with significant experience in an NGO or similar environment (preferably in a hunger context); experience in developing, managing and executing successful advocacy strategies; a demonstrable ability to influence UK government institutions, and experience drafting submissions, researching and writing policy position papers, briefings, publications and responses.
