Concern Universal (CU) seeks a dynamic, high
calibre, motivated and high achieving individual to fill this key role in the
organisation.
Concern Universal’s Malawi programme works in
partnership with District Councils and communities to reach over 500,000 rural
people each year in the areas to improve basic service delivery, reduce
vulnerability and promote pro-poor economic growth. In 2012-13 we spent more

likely to increase to almost £10 million over the next twelve months. The CD
will also play an important leadership role as Chair of the Board of CUMO
Microfinance Ltd, a subsidiary of CU.

motivating and inspiring these teams.
CU operates a highly decentralised structure and
the CD will be expected to take a lead role in managing and developing the

in the UK whenever s/he needs it.
Our relationship with the central and local
governments in Malawi, in-country donors and other partners are paramount to
our work and the CD plays a pivotal role in nurturing and growing these
important relationships. Our key current donor partners in Malawi include Irish
Aid, DFID, the European Commission, WFP, USAID, AusAid, Against Malaria
Foundation and Solidaridad.
