Software Engineer – ‘Toaster’Team
Objective
XID is developing a new biometric access control device which is capable of working in a wide variety of scenarios. Algorithms and applications need to be developed to allow this device to function and interact with external client tools and other 3rd party applications. XID is looking for dynamic software engineers to augment its team to develop these applications and integration software.
Role and Responsibilities
• The selected candidate should:
• Work with the manager to design and develop device application software
• Implement application modules on the embedded device.
• Work with the manger to design and develop the client tools architecture and protocols.
• Implement integration modules for the client tools.
• Implement client tool modules.
• Design and implement integration layer with third party access control systems.
• Do unit and integration testing.
Requirements
The aspiring candidate should have:
• A strong background in C/C++ programming especially under the Linux environment
• At least 2 years of experience in embedded Linux development
• Working knowledge of client/server architecture and web technologies.
• A Degree/Diploma in computer science or equivalent.
• A passion to work on cutting edge technologies.
• Knowledge of Video4Linux would be a plus.
• Experience with Linux device drivers and patching the Linux kernel to enable communication with external devices like cameras would be a huge added advantage.
Remuneration
The selected candidate will be offered a full time position with the company. A monthly salary between S$3000 to S$4500 will be offered based on qualification and experience. Candidates with higher qualification will be considered for a more senior position.
