Purpose of the Position:
To identify key grant and
other funding opportunities for WVZim through strategic engagement with
international donors while ensuring that donor requirements are followed,
starting with the positioning and proposal development stage. Grants and other
funding acquisition will be done according

Office and Revenue strategies, taking into account targets and other priorities
that have been established. The position is critical to support the overall
funding strategy for WVZim which seeks to further expand grant and other
funding and further diversify its funding portfolio and mix.
Major Responsibilities:
Donor engagement
1.
Further develop relations with institutional, government and
private sector donors, as well as WV Support Offices and do this according to
the outlined WVZim’s strategy and program/sector priorities

Identify new and potential funding sources and streams
(international level) while ensuring appropriate interactions and
communications with Support Offices (SOs), other WV entities and donor
representatives / offices in country

Maintain regular communications with existing and potential new
institutional, government and private sector donors and further expand the
Grants Acquisition & Management (GAM) and overall funding strategy for
WVZim

4.
Assist the WVZim programs team in identifying opportunities to
solicit funding from the donor community in country (such as USAID, DFID,
AusAID,UN agencies, and EC)

Represent the WVZim GAM team in national, regional or
international meetings as appropriate

Proposal development
1.
Liaise with the WVZim Monitoring & Evaluation team and the
knowledge unit in conducting monitoring and evaluation, research and
documentation in support of the GAM unit’s focus on expanding grant and other
funding

Liaise with Area Development Program managers, HEA and other units
in implementing and support departments, in designing program proposals,
implementation frameworks that are in line with donor and WV Support Offices

Technical support

Provide technical support as appropriate with grant / other
proposal development, grant compliance and report generation in line with donor
requirements

timely and quality progress (narrative and financial) reports in line with

Contribute to the overall co-ordination and further integration of
grant funded and Area Development Program and other interventions

Mentor and help build the capacity of field grant program staff in
order to enhance the quality and timeliness of their work

Conduct regular review sessions (90 days, 180 days and final
evaluations) with relevant staff ( Programme Officer/s and Graduate interns) to
monitor their progress and performance against the objectives established as part

Knowledge and Skills:
1. Degree in
International Relations, Social Sciences, Development or related field

years’ experience engaging at the national and international level with
government, UN and private sector donors, including leading programme design
processes, negotiating contracts and representing recipient organization and
program interests and priorities in meetings and other settings
