Winchester District Memorial Hospital (WDMH) is a rural community teaching hospital located 40 minutes south of Ottawa. WDMH is a full-service hospital that responds to the needs of our community, from childbirth to complex care and geriatrics. Permanent Part time and Temporary Full time Pharmacists
We are actively seeking candidates for the positions of Permanent Part time and Temporary Full time Pharmacists. The successful candidates must be committed to patient-oriented care and to providing a safe and efficient medication system. The WDMH Pharmacy utilizes technical staff to their full capacity, enabling Pharmacists to concentrate on clinical activities as part of inter-professional teams. We provide pharmaceutical care, inpatient unit dose and computerized pharmacy system for patient medication profiles, central IV admixture systems, as well as a variety of ambulatory care services including chemotherapy. As a teaching hospital, we train and support undergraduate Pharmacy Technicians and undergraduate/postgraduate Pharmacist students on an ongoing basis.
Position Summary
The Pharmacist will support drug distribution activities in the main dispensary and provide cross coverage for inpatient clinical areas. The Pharmacist will participate in patient safety, quality assurance and improvement initiatives involving pharmacy and medication distribution activities.
Qualifications
1. Licensed as a pharmacist with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
2. Baccalaureate of Science degree in Pharmacy
3. Demonstrated problem-solving and teamwork skills
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
5. Ability to work on own initiative, organize and establish priorities
6. Hospital experience preferred
