The Role:
A high-level position reporting to the MD, the role will provide technical services in the context of the Sisili-Kulpawn Project in Northern Ghana while liaising between SADA and other stakeholders in the field of irrigation and water conservation practices.
• He or she will be required to review and finalize general technical procedures, Terms of Reference and methodology for the Project design and implementation.
• Additionally, the successful candidate will provide technical guidance, and support the integration of acceptable standards for environmental and social aspects in the Project design and throughout implementation.
Duty Station: The successful candidate will be initially stationed in Accra but will eventually relocate to Northern Ghana.
Required Skills or Experience
A mid-career person with an advanced university degree in a relevant field for irrigation work (hydrology, water conservation, watershed management, dam design, etc.)
• A minimum of 8 years consistent professional specialization in irrigation planning
• Deep-seated knowledge of the country (particularly Northern Ghana) and its irrigation sector
• Demonstrated Must becompetencies at both policy and field implementation level able and willing to travel frequently to Northern Ghana
• Sensitivity to cultural diversity and the ability to engender cooperation from diverse constituents
• Ability to communicate in local dialects.
