DIRECTOR- EARLY CHILDHOOD TEACHER- FULL-TIME

The
Role:                                                                                                            
                 
West Albury Preschool Centre
is seeking an enthusiastic motivated teaching Director and Nominated
Supervisor, for our well established community based
service.                                                                                         

As an active member
of Centre Management the successful applicant will lead, guide and support the
team in providing hi

gh quality early childhood education and care to the
children and families of our community. This position is also responsible for
the day to day management and organisation of the service ensuring that it
operates in accordance with Legislation and West Albury Preschool’s vision and
values.

    strong understanding of industry legislation, compliance and regulations,
    including the Assessment and Ratings process.

    Leadership and mentoring skills

    strong understanding of various components of business management:
    including funding, budgets, staffing, program delivery & cost control.

    to work collaboratively and cooperatively in a team
    environment  
  • Commitment
    to the importance of communicating with families.
  • Demonstrated
    management skills
  • Curriculum
    planning skills
  • Understanding
    of and demonstrated ability to implement the Reggio Emilia
    Philosophy 
  • Experience
    working with preschool aged children 
  • Commitment
    to the holistic development and wellbeing of all stake holders in the
    preschool community.
  •  Excellent
    written and verbal communication skills

Essential
Criteria

• Experience managing staff in an Early Childhood setting
• Bachelor in Early Childhood Education (approved by ACECQA)
• Current Working with Children Check
• Ability to work a 38 hour week
• First Aid Certificate including Anaphylaxis and Asthma training.
• Understanding and working knowledge of the National Quality Framework, which includes:
National Regulations, National Quality Standards (NQS), and the Early Years
Learning Framework (EYLF).

About our
Centre                                                                  
                         

West Albury
Preschool is a not-for-profit community based centre that has been managed and
developed by the families in our area since 1977. We were rated as Exceeding
the National Quality Standard in our Assessment and Rating visit.

The centre is a two
unit centre, with twenty five children and a minimum of three staff in each
room.   per day.  We run both 3/4 and 4/5 year old groups
throughout the week, with our current enrolment at around 130
children.                                               
                               

West Albury
Preschool is a unique Centre set amongst natural gardens with light filled
rooms designed to stimulate children’s senses, curiosity and enthusiasm for
learning. Our philosophy and educational program is strongly influenced by the
philosophy of the Reggio Emilia early learning
centres.                                      

Our Preschool is a
place where individual and collective wellbeing is promoted and sustained,
through meaningful and reciprocal relationships and practices, for every
participant in our community. Each child has the right to be a player in their
own education and therefore contributes to their own education program. 
The environments, both structured and created, facilitate children’s
playfulness and natural curiosity.

commence Term 1 2018, with the opportunity for a handover period during Term 4
