Job Summary: The Research Officer will mainly develop
and implement a research agenda for the Board in line with the core functions
of the Board.

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:

- In
charge of planning and conducting validation studies; - Carry
out studies in comparability of standards; - Plan and
conduct standard setting and maintenance; - Plan and
conduct grading’ systems. - Plan and
conduct alternative assessment strategies; - The
Research Officer will be tasked to evaluate functioning of established
systems with view to improving the assessment system; - Conduct research
and compile results from research studies; - In
charge of publishing all research findings; - Arrange
for and disseminate key research findings to stakeholders; - Design,
develop and archive research reports including annual reports of the Board; - Conduct
any other research as may be directed by the relevant Committee of the
Board in the interest of the improvement of Board performance; - Attend
Awards and generate statistics for grading including grade boundaries; - Perform any
other duty as assigned the supervisor
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:

- The
applicants for the Research Officer vacancy should hold an Honors
Bachelors’ degree in Social Sciences, Social Work and Social
Administration. Possession of a Post graduate training/qualification in
Statistics/or Data Analysis using STATA (9-10), SPSS, EPI-DATA and other
relevant Data Analysis packages is an added advantage. - At least
two (2) years’ experience in a research related field with government or
reputable organization will be an added advantage. - Computer
literacy skills i.e. proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel and
PowerPoint programs.
