SALARY SCALE: Uganda Law Reform Commission Salary Scale LR4

AGE: 22 years and above

REPORTS TO: Senior Legal Officer

Minimum qualifications and working experience

1. The applicant should be a Ugandan who posses:-

(a) an honours degree in law from a recognized university and a diploma in
legal practice from Law Development Centre;

(b) knowledge in basic computer applications.

2. Should have good analytical and writing skills;

3. Should have good interpersonal skills.

4. Knowledge of project planning and management is an added advantage;

5. Any other relevant postgraduate training will be an added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Preparing research proposals for consideration by the Commission.

2. Carrying out research, participating in data analysis and report writing.

3. Implementing research on projects of the Commission.

4. Carrying out legal research for projects of the Commission.

5. Preparing reports on projects.

6. Reviewing and considering proposals for reform of the law referred to the
Commission.

7. Simplifying and translating the laws.

8. Assisting in formulating policy on specific areas for law reform.

9. Drafting Bills on reports.

10. Participating in analysis and review of policies and laws.

11. Carrying out any other duties that may be assigned to him/her by his/her
supervisor.

Uganda Law Reform Commission, P O Box 12149, Kampala, 8th floor, Workers’ House
not later than 5.00pm on 13th June 2016.

Applicants should attach certified photocopies of their testimonials and
up-to-date Curriculum Vitae (CV) accompanied by a recent passport size
photograph.

Serving Government Officers should route applications through their Supervisors
or Heads of Department.
