Location: Toronto, OntarioSystems Engineer – Backup/Storage, you will participate in the on-going implementation and support of our Backup and SAN storage technology. On a day-to-day basis, you will contribute by:
* Participating in the on-going design, development and implementation of SAN and Backup solutions
* Liaising with other technology projects, ensuring appropriate integrations and functionality
* Identifying, analyzing and resolving bugs, deficiencies, outages and system problems
* Performing continuous improvement and on-going technical development of the Backup, infrastructure, and SAN components
* Defining and documenting support processes for the Backup and SAN environments
* Scripting commands & tasks
* Providing day to day support including on-call support on a rotating basis with other team members.
Your Skills Make a Difference
* You have a minimum of 5 years of progressive technical experience, during which time you have resolved the most complex of operational or production problems. You are a true Storage and Backup guru, whose background includes:
* Extensive Experience with Commvault Simpana backup solutions utilizing Diligent ProtecTier VTL.
* Good working knowledge of High Availability solutions & Disaster Recovery Strategies
* Hands-on experience in implementing, supporting and maintaining Hitachi USPV and AMS storage arrays and EMC DMX and Clarrion Storage arrays.
* Hands-on experience supporting HDS Storage Navigator, HDS Device Manager Suite, HDLM, HGLAM or EMC Control Center
* Working experience with implementing or supporting Cisco MDS 9500 series with Fabric Manager or Mcdata/Brocade switches
* Experience supporting Storage array remote and in-system replication technologies (Hitachi TrueCopy/ShadowImage and EMC SRDF/Timefinder/MirrorView/SANcopy)
* Experience in monitoring and capturing SAN performance metrics.
* Excellent documentation and communication skills
* Working knowledge of LinuxUnix (commands & scripting essentials)
* working knowledge of networking concepts (TCPIP, routing, switching, VLANs)
* General knowledge of Microsoft AD

Salary Range: $70,652 – $97,500
