Action Aid International Rwanda
(AAIR) is a country programme of ActionAid International (AAI) – an
anti-poverty agency working with poor, voiceless people, communities and
similar-minded partners worldwide. Action Aid is a non-partisan,
non-religious development organisation that has been working in Rwanda as a
full Country Programme since 1997 to contribute towards eradication of
poverty and injustices with a focus on tackling the root causes of poverty.
The organisation is primarily concerned with the promotion and defence of
economic, social, cultural, civil and political human rights. AAIR has very
strong commitment to supporting delivery of Government programmes and
strategies including EDPRS and Vision 2020.

We are currently seeking applications
from well qualified and self-motivated persons to fill the position of 2
LOCAL RIGHTS PROGRAMME (LRP) SUPPORT ASSISTANTS/DRIVERS – BASED IN NYARUGURU
AND KARONGI DISTRICTS
PURPOSE
OF POSITION
To contribute to the key objective of
the Program Administration function by providing reliable service of the AAIR
staff, Visitors and Partners and safe driving of the vehicle and regular
maintenance.
MAJOR
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support operational Activities and Coordinate inventory of office
    and instructional supplies.
  • Ensure internal and external mails are collected/ distributed and
    responded appropriately.
  • Act as initial point of contact for departments by responding to
    inquiries and requests or directing as appropriate.
  • Provide information regarding programs, courses, policies, and
    procedures to internal and external contacts.
  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of team’s programs and
    setting up plans and ensuring timelines are met.
  • Schedule appointments and meetings for stakeholders and prepare
    clerical support to partners and line managers
  • Prepare correspondence, data, and other information
  • Support the LRP in LRP Support and Admin needs like Logistics,
    Office Security, Stock, etc…
  • Support LRP in preparing various requests especially for
    payments, Activities, Workshops, Trainings, Travels etc…
  • To manage the use of the vehicle so that the needs of the
    department are met in a timely and cost-efficient manner, and to drive
    carefully, thoughtfully and safely according to the conditions and keeps
    the log book.
  • To keep the vehicle safe and clean, regular checking (fuel,
    engine, tyres and body) and services according to schedule assigned.
  • To maintain a level of personal health and fitness, as well as
    awareness and road laws and safety issues that enable fulfilment of the
    position.
  • To report problems promptly and recommends action to solve
    problems which may arise with the vehicle, with warning sufficient to
    minimize disruption to the CP activities.
  • Adhere and uphold to organisational policies pertaining rules,
    regulations and values in driving
  • Maintain record and non-record filing systems and ensure that
    records are archived.
  • Any other work related assignment by line Manager
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND COMPTENCES
  • At least Secondary school level (A3) in mechanics or
    automobile.
  • Driving experience of at least 3 years in NGO setting.
  • Basic understanding of auto mechanics
