 TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR HIRING A TEAM
BUILDING EXPERT

Aid International Rwanda (AAIR) is a country programme of ActionAid
International (AAI) – an anti-poverty agency working with poor, voiceless
people, communities and similar-minded par

tners worldwide.  ActionAid is a
non-partisan, non-religious development organisation that has been working in
Rwanda as a full Country Programme since 1997 to contribute towards eradication
of poverty and injustices with a focus on tackling the root causes of poverty.
The organisation is primarily concerned with the promotion and defence of
economic, social, cultural, civil and political human rights.  AAIR 
has very strong commitment to supporting delivery of Governement
programmes  and strategies including EDPRS and Vision 2020.

Actionaid
Rwand wishes to hire an expert to facilitate  two days team building
sessions to its staff during the end of the year retreat.
2.
Purpose:
Build
staff team spirit to support the delivery to the 2013 -2017 Country strategic
paper through a collaborative approaches that allows synergy and purposeful
sharing of information and support to each other.
3.
The objective of the assignment:
Through
a set of activities and exercises conduct a two day team building sessions to
AAIR staff with the aim to generate a teamwork spirit, collaboration and
morale.
4.
Scope of the assignment
With
great expertise, prepare the sessions’ activity plans and exercises as well as
ensure participation of all staff in those exercises for maximum achievement.
5.
Tasks
The
recruitment firm shall be responsible for:
  • Work
    together with the AAIR Head of Human Resources and Organisational
    effectiveness to Set the environment;
  • Prepare
    games and exercises that staff will particiapte in
  • Guide
    and conduct the effective participation of  staff in the games and
    exercises;
  • Prepare
    and submit a report after the sessions in the next two to three days;
  • Articulate
    follow up activities and recommendation to management of next steps to
    achieving a highly motivated team.
6.
Profile and required qualification:
The
individual must demonstrate the following:
  • Strong
    demonstrated experience in conducting team building sessions;
  • Must
    be able to speak both English/Kinyarwanda, working knowledge of French is
    an added advantage
7.
Requirements
  • Academic
    documents  and  Curriculum vitae
  • A
    plan of activities for the two (sessions) days;
  • Proposed
    description of the process to be fallowed;
  • Certificate
    of registration for those with registered firms
  • Proof
    of experience to have conducted similar assignments
  • Financial
    proposal per 1 session
8.
Outputs
  • Team
    building report;
  • Proposed
    follow up recommendations;
9.
Language issues
The
sessions will be conducted in English with intermittent use of Kinyarwanda in
the process.
10.
Reporting arrangement
The
expert will report to the Country Director of Actionaid international Rwanda
but for effective preparation and conduct of the team building sessions, the
expert will work closely with the Head of Human Resources and Organizational
effectiveness.
11.
