PURPOSE
PURPOSE
The
Bid Coordinator is an integral member of the Sales Solutions Team, responsible
for the production of high quality, innovative, winning sales documents, to
required delivery timescales, working closely in conjunction with colleagues
across the Sales Team.

Bid Coordinator is also a source of best practice for others in the production
of sales documents, bids and proposals, covering optimum ways of presenting key
information and messages, to identifying the best pieces of pre-existing
content to be used for particular requirements.

PRIMARY
RESPONSIBILITIES:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Take
responsibility for co-ordinating and producing high quality sales
documents working with Account Managers and Technical Consultants on
live opportunities
- Contribution to
individual bid strategy to maximise Telstra’s chance of winning
- Responsible for
ensuring best practices are employed across Telstra’s Sales Teams in
crafting high quality, innovative, winning proposals, to required delivery
timescales
- Maintenance of a
level of client and colleague relationship appropriate to the sale,
supporting the main sales relationship and ensuring key actions are
undertaken internally
- Manage and
maintain a library of “standard” content which can be used “off the shelf”
by members of the whole Telstra International Sales Team, ensuring this is
kept current and up-to-date with content from around the business as well
as sample content from submitted bids
- Manage the Bid
Management intranet ensuring files, documents and tools are maintained and
kept up-to-date, and communicating the contents of the intranet to users
throughout the company
- Develop and
maintain appropriate templates and guidance notes for use by all members
of the Sales Team, ensuring these are kept up-to-date with best practice
and in line with Telstra’s brand guidelines
- Act as a “Super
User” for desk top publishing / document production within the Bid
Management team
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain an
appropriate understanding of the Telstra products and services including
their key features and benefits to ensure their optimum representation in
written materials
- Assist the
Director of Sales Solutions to analyse bid performance statistics and
undertake win/loss analysis, competitive analysis etc
- To continually
seek ways in which to improve the standard and quality of Telstra’s
written sales content, and to implement improvements as best practice
- To provide
advice and guidance to colleagues throughout the Sales team on proposal
content / production
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Education
- Degree educated
in a subject / discipline which requires high levels of literacy,
exceptional written skills, and strong verbal reasoning abilities
such as English, Journalism, Business Management, Law etc Knowledge - Knowledge &
experience in producing / writing high quality, structured material
(dissertations, essays, documents, journalism articles, training manuals,
product copy etc) - In-depth
knowledge of MS Word and PowerPoint. - An underlying
knowledge of the IT arena, ideally Telecoms products, would be
preferable but not essential
