Scholarship Description: We wish to appoint a Teaching Fellow with particular expertise in the area of American literature, but with broader interests in the field of English literature more generally. Candidates should hold a PhD in English. The successful candidate will serve as co-ordinator and lecturer on the single semester honours level module ‘American Fiction: Self and Nation, 1865-1939’ (EN4419); will contribute tutorial teaching to prehonours modules; provide lectures on various modules; and serve as supervisor for a small number of final year dissertations. At postgraduate level, the Teaching Fellow will contribute sessions to a number of the School’s taught MLitt programmes. Other duties will be as specified by the Head of School. The appointment serves as partial cover – on a .5 contract — for a colleague, for a period of five years.
