The Australian Property Institute (API) represents
around 8,600 property professionals in Australia and overseas. Members include
practicing property valuers, as well as property advisors, property analysts
and fund managers, property lawyers, and property researchers and academics.
API’s primary role is to set and maintain the highest standards of professional
practice, education, ethics and professional conduct for its members and the
broader property profession.
About the Role

  • Develop, review and document professional
standards, operating guidelines and guidance notes
  • Prepare working papers and provide policy advice,
and specialist advice on professional matters
  • Remain abreast of developments in finance,
banking and property sectors that could impact on the profession
  • Contribute to the development of professional
    development programs
  • Establish and maintain relationships with other
    property related professional organisations
Skills and Experience
Ideally you have substantial experience as a property
valuer, or alternatively advanced knowledge of the property advisory
profession, including its standards and terminology. Excellent interpersonal,
communication and presentation skills are necessary, with the ability to work
with key stakeholders to develop innovative ideas to improve business practices
and standards. You will be proactive in addressing issues and developing
technical solutions, able to plan and prioritise to meet critical deadlines,
skilled in producing succinct and high quality documentation, and focussed on
contributing to the API team, members and property industry.
Culture and Benefits
This is an excellent opportunity to use your skills
and experience in an environment where you can add value, and contribute to
achieving greater benefits for property professionals in this pre-eminent
organisation. As the API has such a major focus on continuing education, you
will have the opportunity to attend a wide range of interesting and informative
sessions, as well as contribute to the development of other courses. There is a
preference for the role to be based in Sydney, but Melbourne would also be
possible. This is a full time role, however there would be scope for some
flexibility in working arrangements…
