Our client is a reputable Irrigated cropping operation located in the St George
Region of South West Queensland . We are currently seeking a skilled
Irrigation Manager with extensive experience in farming operations,
particularly with cotton.
The successful candidate will be responsible for
managing approximately 800ha
of all operations required for the day to day running of irrigation
activities.
The successful applicant will also demonstrate the following:
- Direct
experience with irrigated cotton farming with the proven ability to
achieve optimal crop production and efficient water management - Staff
management and leadership skills - The
operation of modern farm machinery and GPS - Ability
to manage contractors and external advisers - Strong
organisational skills and capabilities of managing the operation in the
absence of ownership. - Working
with flood and pivot irrigation systems operation. - Practical
outlook with the ability to maintain machinery and equipment. - Qualification
in agriculture or a trade is highly regarded.
A competitive remuneration package based on experience including a 4 bedroom
house close to town will be provided.
