Head of Mathematics is a challenging and responsible position that ensures
teaching and learning of Mathematics is consistent across all areas of years 7
– 12. Excellent subject and pedagogical knowledge are essential, as well as
strong organisational and interpersonal skills.

Head of Mathematics is expected to liaise with the Director of Academic
Development, the Director of Teacher Professional Learning, the Head of
Mathematics (primary) and other relevant staff.

Head of Mathematics is expected to respond to queries from parents and
students, oversee all faculty reports and exams and order additions to the
Mathematics Faculty professional library. As well, the Head of Mathematics is
expected to analyse the annual NAPLAN, VCE and IBDP results and make suggestion
for continued improvement to the faculty and Directors of Academic Development
and Teaching Professional Learning. Most importantly, a love of teaching
Mathematics and a desire to support all learners will be paramount.
