Proposal
Objective
SI is planning to
bid on a performance evaluation of the Environmental and Natural Resource
Management (ENRM) Project in the MCC Malawi Compact. The ongoing, ENRM
project’s objective is to reduce costly disruptions and ensure the
sustainability and increase efficiency of Malawi’s hydropower generation. The
evaluation will be looking at the ENRM Project as whole, and selected
individual grants awarded and implemented under the ENRM and the Social and
Gender Enhancement Fund Activity grant facility.
Position
Description:
SI is seeking a
Senior Analyst/Social and Gender Expert for the MCC Evaluation and Design and
Implementation Services, ENRM Project in Malawi. The Senior Analyst/Social and
Gender Expert will be responsible for technical and methodological leadership
of the social and gender-related aspects of the evaluation. The period of
performance will be one year, with the possibility of four option years.
Qualifications:
- Master’s
or higher in economics, business, policy, or related field required. - Minimum
of five years of experience designing and conducting gender analyses. - Experience
conducting experimental and or quasi-experimental impact evaluations with
control and treatment groups. - Technical
expertise in environment and natural resource management, with a special
emphasis in gender and gender analysis preferred. - Strong
economic, statistics and econometrics skills, including experience with
detailed, high-level data analysis and sampling. - Experience
in Malawi or Sub-Saharan Africa required. - Fluency
in written and spoken English required.
