Services

is a not-for profit organisation that has been providing quality early
childhood education and care since 1905. We are proud of our long history of
working with children and their families, working with communities, and
supporting the development of practitioners and children’s services. With
around 700 staff across 36 sites in Sydney, regional NSW and the ACT, we have
grown into one of Australia’s most respected children’s services organisations.

About The
Role

In this role you
will bring your passion for working with children to our supportive team to
provide quality education and care services. You will work with a team of
dedicated educators and assistants to create a stimulating, positive and
inclusive environment that reflects the Early Years Learning Framework whilst
maintaining the elements of the National Quality Standards (NQS). You will be
responsible for observations, programming and for the evaluation of children’s
development to ultimately support their learning outcomes. You will also engage
with families and the community. 

We have two
roles:  * A Room Leader role in the infants/toddlers room   * A float
role working 25 hours per week.

About The
Centre

SDN Mosman has been
part of the Mosman Community since 1944, and owns and runs a 43 place centre
catering for children from 6 weeks to five years. The centre is located in a
quiet street in Mosman, with off street parking and is very close to public
transport. The centre is well resourced and has a large outdoor area with a
riverbed, large trees and a herb garden.

About You

The right candidate
for this role will have the following:

  • A Diploma
    of Children’s Services (Centre Based Care)
  • A
    certified supervisor number
  • Asthma
    and Anaphylaxis training (preferred)
  • Current
    Senior First Aid Certificate
  • Demonstrated
    ability to actively promote children’s confidence and creativity through
    your individual skills or learnings
  • Excellent
    verbal and written communication skills
  • Initiative
    and the capacity to work with minimal supervision
  • Experience
    in a similar role
  • A
    Working with Children Check clearance number 
  • Demonstrate
    an awareness of and commitment to child safety and comply with the
    Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998.
