Description
The School of St
Jude is a charity funded school that provides a FREE, high-quality education to
over 1,600 primary and secondary children from the poorest communities in
Arusha, Tanzania.
We are seeking an
inspired energetic person for our Media Relations Officer role, based in
Arusha, Tanzania at the School of St Jude. We are looking for a Media Relations
Officer who has knowledge and experience of North American media.
A minimum
commitment of 12 months is expected.
Key
Responsibilities:
- Develop
a media strategy aimed at raising the profile of St Jude’s in North
America - Sourcing
media opportunities with particular focus on the United States - Work
with the marketing and media team to coordinate and update St Jude’s
social networking sites - Contribute
to the St Jude’s monthly newsletter - Updating
the school website - Write a
wide variety of communications for print, TV, radio, and web - Review,
edit, proofread and coordinate production of a variety of marketing
communications
Requirements
and Skills:
- Superior
creative writing skills - Extraordinary
communication and networking skills - Excellent
Microsoft Suite skills - Strong
attention to detail - Exceptional
organisation skills - Previous
experience working in a non-profit organisation desirable
To

Living
allowance:
International
volunteers receive a comfortable monthly living allowance, which is enough to
live on but not enough to fund travel around Africa. For further information
