The
role As a member of the international programs finance team you will:

- provide financial analyses for
management reporting purposes, incorporating input from the regional and
country offices. These analyses should include commentary that is concise,
accurate and informative, and they should be presented in a user-friendly
way - understand the regional and
country office budgets, and assist in the review of the annual and
quarterly plans and budgets - monitor the effectiveness of
regional and country office financial controls and therefore identify
potential risk areas - provide guidance and assistance to
regional and country offices on accounting issues and with communications
with Save the Children funding members when required
Required
skills and experience
skills and experience
- qualified accountant
- financial analysis experience,
where possible for large institutional donors like USAID, ECHO, and EC - INGO accounting/finance experience
would be a plus - highly accurate,
detail-orientated, and able to complete multiple projects, with
conflicting priorities, on a timely basis - experience with management
information systems and reporting metrics - highly developed interpersonal and
communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching - highly developed cultural
awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with
people from diverse backgrounds and cultures - strong results orientation, with
the ability to challenge existing mindsets - ability to present complex
financial information in a succinct and compelling manner - experience of/exposure to the
non-for-profit sector and/or developing countries - experience of solving complex
issues through analysis, definition of a clear way forward and ensuring
buy-in - highest standards of ethics and
integrity - willingness to undertake
reasonable amounts of travel to the country and regional offices for
training, support and capacity-building purposes - Spanish and/ or French language
skills highly desirable - commitment to Save the Children
