We are looking for an experienced individual with advanced creative skills and the ability to design for all facets of online materials. We have a highly trafficked and highly visible website with a range of subsites.
As the Lead Web Designer, you will be contributing to the ongoing design development and maintenance of the User Interfaces (UI) for Scribe (our custom designed Content Management System) to create custom solutions and bring new creative ideas to the online communications team.

Responsibilities include:
• Create website design concepts and build final XHTML/CSS/Flash frameworks integrated with PHP templates
• Test the usability and accessibility of websites to make sure that they are up to industry standards
• Design and develop User Interface (UI) and training materials for The Salvation Army’s Content Management System, known as Scribe.
• Where necessary, edit content as per requirements.
• Design and develop Flash elements as required.

To be successful in the role, you will possess:
• An understanding, empathy, appreciation and the ability to promote the values and ethos of The Salvation Army.
• A strong background in graphic and web design, interaction design, user experience, and information architecture.
• Extensive implementation skills in XHTML/CSS/JavaScript UI frameworks integrated with PHP templates.
• Extensive implementation skills in website design concepts following styling of existing designs.
