: Network Engineer

Reports
to: IT operations manager

JOB
PURPOSE

Evaluates,
tests, installs, administers and maintains optimal and effective LAN and WAN
system and Network software components.

JOB
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Help
lead the network planning, design and knowledge share within teams as well
as customer teams
Provides
technical resolution/support to customers (internal and/or external).
Leverage
existing best practices for documenting the key aspects of the network
design plan and implement network layers
Work
with other Operations teams (server, backup, network, etc) to determine
ways to optimize cross team processes. Applies active learning by
involving team members in reflecting on experiences and pooling ideas
Ensures
operation is maintained at acceptable levels, including any necessary
restart, recovery and reconfiguration procedures.
Participate
in managing all network security solutions
As
per request, should be able to do VPN setup, VLAN creation, Cisco and
Juniper SRX setup, BIG IP LTM and Cisco FirePower & FireSight
configuration
Perform
problems determination on system errors or malfunctions, and works with
the application team/supplier to identify, diagnose and rectify the
problem.
Performs
capacity study to analyze current resource utilization and estimates
future requirements.
Keeps
abreast of technological advancement, emerging standards and new software
or hardware solutions that may affect decisions on systems building or
enhancements.
Update
documentation of work and must be able to work in a 24 x 7 operations
support environment

MINIMUM
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

Diploma
in Computer Science or related discipline

MINIMUM
YEARS/TYPE OF EXPERIENCE

4+
years supporting networks + CCNA and CCDA
Experience
designing campus IT environments
Should
have minimum 3 years’ experience with the Cisco Switches, Routers,
Firewall, BIG IP (F5) LTM, Juniper SRX firewall and IPS FirePower &
FireSight and basic troubleshooting knowledge of Windows and Linux OS.
Effective
English written and oral communication skills, excellent problem
resolution skills, and must like working in a global team environment.
