Theatre Opera Consultancy at Rwanda Environment Management Authority (REMA)
Rwanda Environment Management Authority (REMA) refers on article 44 of the
Organic Law N°04/2005 of 08/04/2005 determining the modalities of protection,
conservation and promotion of environment in Rwanda which states that : -Every
person has the right to be informed of the effects human health and the
environment may encounter, due to damaged activities or destructive ones as
well as the measures taken for protective purposes or restitution of the
damaged:
REMA is seeking to contract consultancy services from a credible consultant
capable to conduct communication and media activities through an innovative
Theatre Opera as well as delivering requested media products. REMA wishes to
target through media communication, the general public of all categories by
linking environmental protection and self reliance. Individual consultant
/company that will be recruited must fulfill the following responsibilities:
Terms of References
The selected consultant will be a producer/Director for a period of twelve
months, through a new form of communication Theatre Opera the consultant will
raise awareness on environmental management issues associated with climate
change, sustainable development and poverty eradication, good management of
natural resources and all activities related to the environment with the
purpose of encouraging Rwandans to be self reliance based on environment good
management. The consultant will plan and propose the Institution the best way
to raise people interest of changing behavior in both urban and cities.
Duties
– Submitting every Tuesday a new sketch/skit well edited that will be
aired on Radios and Televisions working with REMA. Length 12-15 minutes
– Proposing an environmental clubs program of 5 minutes duration to
interest Kids to love and protect environment. The program shall be a narration
or another form of multimedia adapted to kids capacity of understanding.
– Conduct an editorial meeting for REMA monthly News letter and deliver
the product every month
– Writing and Designing scripts for advertisement spots
Skit characterisation
48 Skits will be aired this year, they are a film adaptation of a mix of REMA´s
progress in environmental protection and promotion since it started and
innovative activities that invite population to envisage a brit future and self
reliance founded on environment protection, the snopsis has to show how human
activities destroy environment and how protecting it leads to sustainable
development.
Qualification and experience required:
The consultant or the representative of company shall present:
– A University degree in communication, journalism, or related field :20
marks;
– At least 2 years experience in the Field approved by good performance
40 marks
– Based knowledge and experience in environment issues: 40 marks
How To Apply
Interested consultants are required to submit their applications in a sealed
envelope at REMA Office in Kacyiru, Kigali, to the Director General of Rwanda
Environment Management Authority (REMA) at the address mentioned above not
later than 27th May, 2013 at 13.30 PM.
The application file should Contain following documents:
– A detailed Curriculum Vitae of individual who is proposing to carry out
the work for the consultant;
– A capacity statement demonstrating why the consultant is capable of
doing the job based on skills and experience;
– A technical offer detailing how deliverables will be achieved with a
financial offer
– Submitting a 5 pages snopsis of 48 Skits that will be developed in the
