Currently, the products offered by the company include:
• Small packets (850 g) of cooked beans ;
• Large packets (35 kg) of cooked beans ;
• Corn in water packaged in jars
“RWANDA AGR-BUSNESS INDUSTRIES” (RABI Ltd) supply local and regional market. It has a high processing capacity of 40 tons of product per 24 hours, approximately 12 000 tons of product per year. The factory has been operational since October 2009.
It is in light of this that RABI Ltd is recruiting a Managing Director who will coordinate all activities of the company.
Post classification: Managing Director
Overall responsibilities:
The Director General will play a vital role in coordination of different activities of the company. He will be in charge of:
• The day–to-day running of the company including the financial and the technical management;
• Updating the Board of Director and the General Assembly with the progress of different activities through regular reports;
• Participating actively in the monitoring and evaluation of the different activities.
Specific responsibilities and duties
The duties of the Director General are as follows:
Management performance
• Set up and or review the action plan and the budget on annual basis;
• Lead the development of detailed operational plans related to the company’s business;
• Implement the financial and administrative procedures;
• Supervise the management of human and financial resources of the company;
• Develop appropriate system audit tools to ensure that the company business plan and standards are met;
• Build a strong partnership with government and private institutions involved in beans and maize sector at the national and international level;
• Put in place a strong communication system and marketing strategies to insure the profitability and the viability of the company;
• Implement a partnership with main clients and other companies involved in the cereals processing
• Ensure all company decisions comply with appropriate laws and regulations ;
• Participate in the company related meetings both nationally and internationally.
Technical performance
• Support the training courses and workshops of staff regarding company architecture standards and procedures;
• Conduct regular assessments of the company environments, synthesize pertinent information and identify implications to guide the future technical planning, development and implementation;
• Manage and ensure the maintenance of tangible fixed assets of the company.
Funds mobilization
• Negotiate, conclude and manage lines of credit granted to RABI Ltd by the banks;
• Facilitate the BOD in negotiations with potential investors and other stakeholders;
• Deal with the different loans repayment;
• Supervise the business.
Profile :
• Must be preferably Rwandan by nationality ;
• Must be aged 50 maximum ;
• Must have a University degree in Management or Administration, economy, agri-business, agro-processing industries; a masters degree would be an added advantage;
• Must have at least 5 years managerial experience, in industry sector and preferably in a related area;
• Demonstrated team leadership, Organizational and managerial skills and able to supervise a team of at least 50 persons ;
• Excellent communication and analytical skills;
• Fluency in reading, writing and speaking Kinyarwanda, English and French ;
• Power of negotiations at national and international level;
• Strong experience in preparing technical documentation required;
• An in-depth understanding of the local, regional and international markets.
