About Us:
Rupertsland
Institute, an affiliate of the Métis Nation of Alberta, is seeking a Job Coach
for our Calgary office. With locations across Alberta, Rupertsland Institute
develops and delivers programming a
nd services to the Alberta Métis population
in relation to the labour market and education assistance.
The Role:
The Job Coach links
Métis clients to jobs and provides support to assist them with developing job
search strategies to find employment. This may include screening clients for
job readiness, assessing client skills, developing action plans, preparing
clients for job search, matching clients with employers and referring the
client to an employment counsellor, or other community or government resource.
The Job Coach networks with industry, employment and partner agencies to build
a network of employers. In addition, the Job Coach networks within the
community and at events to recruit clients who are job ready now or who could
be ready with job coaching.
To Fit the
Role:
- Post-secondary
education in career development, human/social services or other related
fields, or minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role related to
employment services; - Knowledge
of labour market trends, and supply and demand; - Knowledge
of FOIP, PIPA and other privacy legislations; - Experience
networking and establishing relationships with industry, employers and
community partners; - Knowledge
of additional community resources, government resources, mental health
providers and addiction support providers is an asset; - Understanding
of the job loss cycle; - Good
problem solving and conflict resolution skills; - Strong
communication and assessment skills; - Ability
to work under minimal supervision, and good time and change management.
