An exciting
opportunity exists for an enthusiastic law graduate to work with an innovative
boutique law firm based in Bundall on th
e Gold Coast, which specialises in
Commercial Litigation and Insolvency.
Although a boutique
firm, our firm has exciting broad Commercial Litigation and Insolvency work of
high quality in the higher Courts of Australia. The firm operates out of
modern offices at Corporate Centre One in Bundall, adopts cutting edge
technology, and the firm is heavily involved in the local community.
We are seeking a law
graduate to complete their Practical Legal Training (PLT) placement with our
firm with the potential for a full time position to be offered at the
completion of the placement.
The candidate will:
- Have a
genuine interest in commercial litigation and/or insolvency; - Be an
enthusiastic self-starter; - Be
willing to learn the processes relating to litigation and Court work; - Have
the ability to be assigned tasks and proactively work through the
particular tasks; - Have
exceptional communication skills; - Have a
positive attitude and be a team player; and - Have
good attention to detail.
The successful
candidate will be exposed to the following as part of their training:
- Attending
client meetings and obtaining instructions; - Attending
Court with solicitors & barristers; - Assisting
in preparing pleadings and Court documents to be filed with Court; - Attending
mediations and settlement conferences; - Preparing
correspondence and letters of demand; and - Preparing
briefs to counsel and liaising with experienced litigation barristers.
The role presents an
exciting opportunity for the right candidate to begin their legal career in
Commercial Litigation and Insolvency, and achieve solid training in the
process.
