The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Reliability Engineer to provide support to
the track maintenance team to improve the railway network assets to allow our
customers as well as the rail operation to run trains safely when and where
they need enabling them to meet and exceed our annual tonnage plans.

Our privately owned and operated rail network is an essential part of our
integrated production process and services our 15 mines across the Pilbara via
1,600km of track. With depots located at Tom Price, Cape Lambert and Dampier (7
Mile), each train is operated by a single driver and comprises up to three
locomotives and 234 ore cars stretching to approximately 2.4 kilometres in
length with 40 trains operating per day. As part of our Mine of the Future™
programme, we will implement AutoHaul technology – the first long distance
heavy haulage deployment of automated trains, enhancing both productivity and
safety.

What the role entails

This role is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly ambitious
individual with the ability to take on new challenges. Working a 5 days on, 2
off roster and reporting to the Superintendent Reliability Engineering, you
will be:
 

  • Leading a team of reliability engineers working on rail,
    civil and mobile equipment maintenance projects
  • Establishing detailed asset management plans for the existing
    fleet and integrating these plans into a Defect Elimination process for
    the Reliability Engineering team
  • Driving the reliability effort for the track maintenance
    department with an initial focus on specialist on and off track equipment
  • Developing, reviewing and improving maintenance tactics
  • Providing technical support and guidance to the key
    stakeholders with respect to rail management and performance

What you will need for this role

To succeed in this role, you will have:
 

  • Experience in managing mobile equipment maintenance
  • Detailed experience in the use of defect elimination
    processes
  • Demonstrable ability to lead a small team of engineers
