The Rwanda
Development Board (RDB) is an emerging unique institution in Rwanda created to
fast track the country’s economic development. As an entity, it brings together
economic clusters tasked to ensure the Rwanda’s vision 2020 economic
aspirations are realizable. To succeed at this important mission, RDB intends

talent in the market on the following positions:
1. RDB/C&PR/01: Media and Events Junior Officer(1)
Specific
tasks and responsibilities:
- Create and implement a media
strategy to identify opportunities for, and secure, immediate
and long-term media coverage; - Service print, broadcast and
online media particularly in Rwanda, regionally and internationally
by proactively writing articles, responding to all queries, and
coordinating appropriate interviews; - Work with the content
developer, produce and/or review print, broadcast and online media
materials on RDB’s concerns and activities; - Organize media events,
including news conferences and media seminars; - Provide expert media advice to
staff, including assisting them in: writing materials for the media,
identifying media opportunities in their regions, generating media
coverage, servicing the media. Identify, training needs and as appropriate
implement media training; - Work closely with the PR and
Media Manager and focal points from the different units and departments on
the development of RDB’s website by making recommendations to improve both
the design and editorial content of the website.
Job
Requirements: Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s in Mass
Communication, journalism, Events Management or any other related field; - +2 years experience in Public
Relations and events management; - Ability to simplify complex and
detailed information for a wide range of audiences; - Excellent verbal communication
and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate confidently and
positively to people both inside and outside; - Ability to manage projects
specifically with profiling events and budget planning and control; - Teamwork; good interpersonal
skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relations
with people in a diverse, multi-cultural environment; - Self starter, able to work
under minimum supervision; - Ability to prioritise, manage
conflicting deadlines and plan your own workload; - Fluency in English (listening,
reading, writing and spoken) required. Knowledge of the French language is
added advantage.
