Program Development Manager Job Vacancy in Canada

Organization: Planet in Focus Location: Toronto, Ontario

Planet in Focus Canada’s leading non-profit environmental media arts organization. We are looking for an Interim Program Development Manager for a one-year contract (maternity leave). We were ideally looking for a candidate to begin their contract in mid-May.

This is currently a part time position working out of the Planet in Focus office four days per week. Depending on the successful applicant’s preference, this position could be expanded to become full time. Applicants are asked to specify their preference on their resume.

The Program Development Manager is primarily responsible for overseeing and maximizing all sources of donations and grants for Planet in Focus.

Working with the Executive Director, the Program Development Manager will:
• Develop and implement strategies to maximize Planet in Focus revenues from public and foundation sources, with some consideration given to private sources
• Ensure that program data is collected for the purposes of program reports and recommendations and that accompanying financial reports are created
• Identify and cultivate new prospective donors and funders, and build
relationships with existing donors and funders
• Work with the Administrative Coordinator to track and reconcile accounts receivable
• Advise the Executive Director on fundraising trends and changes to the grant guidelines and maintain a list of fundraising deadlines and deliverables
• Develop and manage all aspects of the cultivation process for potential donors, including strategic implementation and donor relations.
• Keep accurate and easily accessible records of all work to ensure
organizational continuity
• Prepare all fundraising letters, proposals, materials with input from Executive Director and other stakeholders
• Assist in Festival and special events as needed. This does include some weekends and evenings from time to time.

The Program Development Manager will demonstrate competence in the
following areas:
• Strong financial skills: Experience preparing budgets
• Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Collaborative: Working with a variety of stakeholders to create effective proposals and applications
• Deadline Oriented: Excellent time management skills; attention to detail;
ability to prioritize and monitor progress towards goals
• Experience: Proven fundraising ability and experience in writing successful grant applications a must.
• Experience working in a non-profit setting an asset.
• Knowledge of environmental and media arts is an asset.
• Knowledge of Quickbooks is an asset.
