General Purpose:
The
Financial Analyst is responsible for analyses financial date to inform
management decision making. He/ She w

ill is contribute to provide timely and
accurate information necessary to produce financial reports and insure
appropriate accounting control procedures.

Specific
Responsibilities:
  • Keep
    track of all revenues and expenditures by Serenic dimensions
  • Record
    and import transaction into Serenic on weekly basis with accurate up to
    date balances available at all times.
  • Assist
    the Finance Director with the production of complete quarterly and
    annual financial reports.
  • These
    reports include:
    • Complete
      electronic summaries of bank statements for all accounts held by PIH in
      Rwanda.
    • All
      floating checks and outstanding payments documented quarterly.
    • Work
      with PIH Finance team in Rwanda to produce monthly or quarterly statement
      of expenditures for all Rwanda Francs and USD expenses.
  • Ensure
    that all expenses are allocated to the appropriate dimension paying
    special attention to expenses that need to be shared between various
    funds.
  • Compile
    and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements
    including monthly and annual accounts
  • Ensure
    financial records are maintained in compliance with IMB policies and
    procedures
  • Provide
    required weekly & monthly financial reports by specified deadlines
    to the Finance Director
  • Report
    all accounting discrepancies and irregularities
  • Contribute
    to expenditure forecasts in order to submit fund requests
  • Ensure
    accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses
  • Participate
    in the development of the finance department systems and their
    implementation.
  • Analyze
    trends of major expenses and inform Director on any abnormality.
  • Determine
    unit costs and track them over the year.
  • Maintain
    regular contact with District finance team and assure proper reporting
    and collection of monthly expenditure reports from individual sites
  • Together
    with the director of Finance, Finance manager and site accountants
    enforce full accountability of resources transferred to Partners.
  • Together
    with Director of Finance carry out monthly budgetary follow-up,
    analyzing variances and monthly reporting to the CFO.
  • Suggesting
    monthly budget updates to the Finance Director with comments according
    to the program implementation progress.
  • Work
    with grant managers in reviewing all fund/grant budgets and verifying
    financial statements
  • Perform
    other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the line manager.
Qualification,
Knowledge and Skills
  • University
    degree in Accounting, Finance and any other related field.
  • Strong
    computer skills especially in Excel.
  • Minimum
    of five years’ experience in the area of finance or accounting.
  • Strong
    analytical skills.
  • Skills
    in Auditing will be an added advantage.
