Oyo state confirms two new COVID-19 deaths

Six new confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in Oyo State, the latest figures released by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) reveal.

The six cases at Oyo were among the new 276 reported in 15 states in the figures released on Tuesday night.

On Tuesday night Governor Seyi Makinde, on his Twitter account, announced that the new cases brought the number confirmed in the state to 250.

“Sadly two of the six positive cases confirmed today had already passed away and the total number of deaths is six,” he tweeted.

However, Mr Makinde announced that on Tuesday 17 confirmed COVID-19 patients were discharged, after receiving their second negative test results, taking the number of cases discharged into the state to 75.

The governor further urged residents with any symptoms of COVID-19, such as cough , fever, fatigue, body ache and shortness of breath, to call emergency operations center.
